ACTIVE DAY CELEBRATES NATIONAL ADULT DAY SERVICES WEEK
TREVOSE, PA – September 17, 2017 – Active Day, the largest provider of adult day health service centers in the United States, begins a weeklong celebration of National Adult Day Services Week throughout its 91 centers. This year’s theme is “Celebrating Diversity.”
This special week has been celebrated annually since it was proclaimed on September 27, 1983, by former President Ronald Reagan. The third complete week of September is set aside to raise awareness of the availability and accessibility of adult day programs nationwide. Active Day centers will observe this week through open houses, entertainment and other member appreciation events.
“Our centers are supported by strong leaders and a dedicated staff who genuinely care about their members and local community. National Adult Day Services Week is only a sampling of what Active Day does every day,” says Craig Mehnert, Chief Operating Officer. “We make it a priority to celebrate a healthy, active lifestyle on a daily basis.”
Designed to be a cost effective alternative to home health services, nursing homes and assisted living facilities, Active Day’s state-of-the-art centers offer a daytime program of nursing care, social services, nutritious meals and therapeutic activities for elderly and disabled adults. Each of our adult day health centers enables frail, elderly and disabled adults to live at home and remain independent in their communities, while receiving health care and supervision during the day, as well as providing relief and respite for caregivers.
